43. DyingDemons can't die, at least not in the same sense as humans would like to think. When we're killed by one of their demon-slaying methods--rock-salt bullets, wrought iron weapons, holy water, what have you--we do appear to die, but really, we just return to Hell to recover and return another day with a different human appearance. True, when we're killed by an angel, we tend to stay dead, but given the fact that they have abilities and weapons that humans couldn't even dream of…well, it's kind of understandable.

Of course, we also tend to stay dead when another demon does the killing.

We had to give him back to his original owner because he attacked one of our little dogs (the little dog's okay, though he's scared of big dogs now). She'd given him to us because she'd gotten a divorce and was moving to an apartment, but then they got back together and were looking for a new place. Then, two weeks after we gave him back, my mom called to see when we could visit him and was informed that he'd died a couple days beforehand.
